International car manufacturer starts using free solar energy

An Italian car manufacturer is planning to install solar panels to a number of its manufacturing plants and delivery and shipping centres. The solar panel installations will be fitted to the roofs of the various buildings, and it is predicted that they will generate a combined total of 60MW.

Switching from using fossil fuels to solar energy will allow the company to reduce their carbon emissions by around 30,000 tonnes per year.  The company is planning on reducing its carbon footprint by around 20% by the end of 2016.

The solar panel installers will begin work start work within the next few days, and the process should be complete by February 2012.

Various other car manufacturers have also started using the free solar power to make free electricity  as a way of cutting their carbon emissions, and reducing their spend on energy too.  Ford began utilising free solar energy earlier on in the year, while Porsche has also added a solar panel installation to its warehouse in Germany.

If you would like to save money on the cost of your electricity bill and reduce the amount of carbon your property emits into the atmosphere you can by visiting http://freetricity.net/pages/.

Solar panels are more affordable than you may think due to the material they are made from coming down in price- and some home owners may even be entitled to free solar panels too. This is due to the launch of the government’s FIT scheme- which stands for Feed In Tariff whereby any electricity which is generated by your solar panel installation that your property doesn’t use is fed back into the National Grid. The solar panel installers then claim back the cost of the electricity back, which pays for the solar panels.

Alternatively, if you would like to buy your own solar panels you can and this will generate you a small income, as any of the electricity they produce which you don’t use will be fed into the National Grid.
